CUCOG MEETINGS

The 2026 CUCOG Annual Meeting was held on February 17–18, 2026, in Seattle, WA, bringing together leaders in academic OB-GYN for two days of thoughtful discussion, collaboration, and forward-looking dialogue.

We extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Cass and Dr. Francis for developing an outstanding and highly engaging program.

This year’s meeting focused on the evolution and impact of competency-based medical education in OB-GYN and other specialties. Participants explored real-world challenges and opportunities in training, certification, and readiness for unsupervised practice. Interactive discussions addressed key leadership priorities, including hiring and onboarding, graduate preparedness, and the essential skills required for the future workforce. Attendees also had dedicated time to engage directly with leaders from ACOG, ABOG, ACGME, and APGO to discuss updates and emerging developments in medical student, resident, and fellow education, program accreditation, and Board certification.

In addition, the program tackled some of the most pressing questions in academic medicine today: sustaining and growing the next generation of OB-GYN physician-scientists, navigating tightening research funding, identifying new sources of meaningful support, and aligning the research mission with broader academic priorities.

All sessions were designed to be interactive, encouraging open dialogue and the exchange of practical insights. Thank you to everyone who joined us in Seattle to share expertise, experiences, and meaningful connections.
